A review workflow can seem obvious to the people who built it and confusing to the person receiving the link. Customer feedback was shaping our client-portal development. Watching a real handoff helps reveal what needs simplifying.
Progress update from 7 February 2026. The client portal and related improvements were being developed, not presented as fully available that week.
Update, 4 October 2026: Client portals are now generally available. See the current client portals guide for setup and the permissions needed.
TL;DR
Clipflow updates
- Customer conversations were informing client-portal development.
- The team was working on sharing behavior, including how disabling a link affected the portal.
- Analytics, notifications and interface improvements were also in progress.
Putting it to work
- Test a review request with someone who did not help create the workflow.
- Fix the confusing instruction before asking them to review a whole batch.
Observe the first review
Choose one finished explanation and share it through your established review path. Ask the recipient to find the edit, understand the decision you need and leave feedback. Watch where they hesitate instead of giving a running explanation of every click.
Watching a customer try the workflow reveals what the team already takes for granted. For your team, that might expose a link with too much material, unclear status language or a review request that never says what approval means.
The current share links guide explains external feedback. Check the selected material and the access scope before sending a link.
Keep the request small and repeatable
Correct the confusing part, then try the same task again. A clear request on one edit is a stronger starting point than asking a client to navigate a large folder of unexplained versions.
When that handoff works, use the current client portals guide to understand the broader client-review workflow. The aim is a decision the reviewer can make comfortably and an answer the editor can use.
