Decide who needs to work in the project and who needs to review

Decide who needs to work in the project and who needs to review

A content workflow can involve a full-time editor, an occasional contributor and a client who only approves the result. Those people need different access and instructions, even when they are working on the same project. Clarifying them also makes the production handoffs easier to design.

Progress update from 15 November 2025. Pricing and access details are historical; consult today's plans for current limits.

TL;DR

Clipflow updates

  • The team was simplifying the pricing model after a customer conversation exposed unnecessary complexity.
  • Agency storage and occasional contributor access were part of the pricing work.
  • Link-based review was considered separately from full participation in the production system.

Putting it to work

  • Give each participant the access and instructions needed for their actual job.
  • Check current plan details before deciding what access to provide.

Map the handoff before inviting everybody

For an agency video, the editor works with the brief and versions, a contributor supplies footage and the client approves the final explanation. Those jobs require different instructions even when they relate to one project.

Keep the production coordination with the team. For the client decision, the current share links guide explains external feedback without asking the reviewer to navigate every part of the workspace.

Before sharing, check what the link exposes and who should receive it. A simpler review route still needs a deliberate access decision.

Keep the instructions as clear as the access

Tell the contributor what material is needed and tell the reviewer what approval means. That avoids turning an upload into an unclear assignment or a factual check into a new creative brief.

Use today's product documentation and pricing for current plan questions. These roles carry different responsibilities. Make the next handoff clear for each person involved.
