Give a busy reviewer only the work they need to see

A client or founder may need to approve an edit without learning the team's entire production system. We were testing a lighter client portal designed around the work a reviewer actually needed to inspect.

Progress update from 13 February 2026. The portal was in staging for testing at that point, not a finished public release. Linked guides cover today's workflow.

Update, 4 October 2026: Client portals are now generally available. See the current client portals guide for setup and the permissions needed.

TL;DR

Clipflow updates

  • The client portal was being tested as a lightweight view of shared projects and media.
  • The design used explicitly shared work to determine what appeared.
  • Analytics interface development continued alongside that review work.

Putting it to work

  • Ask the reviewer for a clear decision on a selected edit.
  • Check the scope of a shared link before distributing it.

Make the review request specific

For a customer explanation, the founder might only need to confirm the claim and example. Give them the relevant edit and a short question: is the process accurate, and is there anything that needs correcting before publication?

The client portal aimed to keep that experience separate from the production team's tools. The current client portals guide explains today's access and sharing workflow.

The portal design relied on shared links. Treat such a link as access to the material it exposes. Check what is included and who should receive it rather than assuming a lightweight view makes every file private automatically.

Return the decision to the editor

Once feedback arrives, make the required change clear and keep it with the work. The media review guide explains feedback and status handling in the current product.

That gives the reviewer a focused job and the editor an actionable result. The process remains useful even when the person approving the explanation has little time to spend in production software.
