When growth feels slow, it is tempting to ask whether to stop making content entirely. We were putting more effort into advertising while continuing to build analytics. The practical lesson is to define what each kind of work is meant to do.
Progress update from 10 January 2026. Analytics was in development; the linked guide describes the current product.
Update, 4 October 2026: Analytics is now generally available for connected channels. The current analytics guide explains supported views and reporting limits.
TL;DR
Clipflow updates
- Analytics development became a major product focus.
- Project list improvements continued.
- The content team was putting more effort into advertising while reviewing the role of organic content.
Putting it to work
- Give an explanatory post and a direct-response ad distinct briefs.
- Judge each result against the job it was made to do.
Write the purpose before the script
An organic answer might help a prospective customer understand how your service works. An ad might ask that person to book a consultation now. They can use related material without requiring identical openings, captions or next steps.
Put the intended audience and action in each project. The Project Pages guide explains keeping that context with the assignment so the editor can make appropriate choices.
Those were our priorities at the time, rather than a rule that every business should replace organic publishing with ads. Your decision should reflect the audience, offer and capacity you actually have.
Keep the evidence in its proper context
Review organic platform results through the current analytics guide, and paid performance through the advertising platform. Reach, enquiries and confirmed customers answer different questions.
Keep the useful explanation even if you change how it is distributed. A clearer role for each piece gives the team a better brief and makes the next review more informative.
