If one editor regularly needs five or ten revisions and another needs one or two, I want to understand the difference.
A list of completed videos won't tell you that. You can see output without seeing how much back-and-forth it took to get there.
While working on Clipflow's media review experience, those were the details I wanted us to make easier to see. How many revisions were happening? How many comments did a piece receive? What did the review process look like across the work?
The goal in our own content workflow is fairly simple. I hand over the footage, someone makes the video, and I can review it without having to keep explaining the same things.
Getting there takes more than hiring an editor and hoping for the best. You need to understand where the repeated work is happening. A high revision count is a reason to look more closely, rather than just keep moving the item back through the process.
It also gives the conversation something concrete to start from. You can look at the actual media and feedback instead of making a vague complaint that editing is taking too long.
I want that visibility as a business owner because every extra loop asks for more attention. When you're producing a lot of content, you feel those interruptions.
So look beyond how many pieces were delivered this week. Check what it took to get them approved. If there's a repeated pattern, spend some time with it. That is where you may find the work you need to improve before increasing the volume again.
