We tried cold outreach early in Clipflow and didn't get the result we wanted. It was easy to come away thinking the channel didn't work.
Later, our message was clearer and we had more customer feedback and testimonials. We also understood the product and the people it helped better.
That meant the second attempt could be different. We weren't simply repeating the same message and hoping it would suddenly work.
We also knew other businesses used outreach to acquire customers. Our own first attempt wasn't enough to decide that the whole approach was useless.
In another week, the team used LinkedIn outreach and booked several meetings. That gave us some immediate work to do with people, rather than only wait for our online marketing to bring them in.
I don't think that proves any channel will work if you keep trying forever. Sometimes you need to change the approach or choose somewhere else to spend the effort.
But before dismissing something, I want to understand what we actually tested. Did we have a clear explanation? Did we know who we were contacting? Could we show why the product was worth their time?
Experience can change those answers. The business you have now may give you a better version to test than the one you had at the start.
For us, that was enough reason to try again. A disappointing first attempt had given us information, but it hadn't answered every question about how the channel could work for the business.
